St. Andrew’s United Church, Blind River, Algoma Presbytery, London Conference

Seeking an Ordained, Diaconal, or Designated Lay Minister for 2/3 position (27 hours per week);
St Andrew’s United Church is located in the Town of Blind River, Ontario, with a population of 3450. We are a small town church that currently has an older and welcoming congregation with traditional United Church values. Currently having no Sunday school, our focus is our Sunday service, with fellowship and coffee following service. Pastoral care is of significant importance as well. Other activities include weekly bible study, book club, and coffee hour. Our outreach/community activities include a monthly soup/sandwich luncheon. Warmer weather sees an increase in attendance with returning “snowbirds” and cottagers. There are Indigenous and Francophone components to the town and surrounding area.

Blind River is located on the Trans-Canada Highway 17,on the shore of Lake Huron’s North Channel. Situated half way between the cities of Sudbury and Sault Ste. Marie, both which have comprehensive health care centres and shopping, 1 ½ to 2 hours from Blind River. Both also offer airports that connect into Toronto’s Pearson International Airport.
Blind River offers instant access to water activities whether it be Lake Huron, or many inland lakes and rivers. Comprehensive trail systems allow for both summer and winter activities. Peace and quiet can be found not far away.
